The first handhelds satellite phone in the Inmarsat portfolio is on track for a global lunch in June 2010. Called Isatphone Pro, it will offer satellite telephony, with Bluetooth for hands-free use, voice mail ,text and email messaging.
Location data also will be available to the user to look up or send a text message. Targeted primarily at professional users in the government, media, aid ,oil & gas ,mining and construction sectors, the device will be available over the three Inmarsat -4 satellites, which have an operational lifetime into 2020s.
1Wlwven distributor partner have been selected to sell the Isatphone Pro . They are AST, China Telecom,Wvosat,MCN,MVS,Network Innovations, NSSL,Satvom Global,Singtel, Sitratos and Vizada.
